Global Legal Alliance 2018 Annual General Meeting was successfully held to discuss cross-border investment and international cooperation

[GCTV News from New York]On October 19, the first half of Global Legal Alliance 2018 Annual General Meeting was successfully held in Washington, DC, USA. The theme of this annual conference is “Cross-border Investment and International Cooperation”. The scale of the conference is grand. Famous lawyers, politicians, business officials and entrepreneurs from all over the world attended the conference.

At the same time, the Counselor, Economic Affairs Section, Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the USA and the Representative from National Development and Reform Commission,PRC as well as US Congressmen, White House reporters and senior US government officials also  attended the conference and delivered constructive keynote speeches. Both 2018 GLA Chairman Mr. Moses Cheng and GLA Co-Chairman Mr. Chen Wen gave Welcoming Remarks. GLA Deputy Secretary General Mr. Bill Li and Mr.Kevin Zhu host the conference.

2018 GLA Chairman Mr. Moses Cheng said: The annual conference is themed with “Cross-border Investment and International Cooperation”. GLA members from law firms and law departments of large and medium-sized enterprises in different countries and regions around the world will play a huge role in the future cross-border investment,
international cooperation and Belt and Road international economic cooperation.


GLA Co-Chairman Mr. Chen Wen said: Global Legal Alliance is a non-governmental organization, created by 11 international law firms in Beijing on May 19, 2016. Our mission is to set up a platform that brings together lawyers from small and medium-sized law firms and legal professionals that are working in house in large and medium-sized businesses, so that they can exchange ideas, learn from each other, pursue professional development
together and identify opportunities for international cooperation and business development.It shows that GLA attaches great importance to the United States that it chose to hold not only the first half of the annual conference in Washington, D.C., the political center of the United States, but also the second half of  it in New York, the financial and capital center of the United States.

GLA Deputy Secretary General Mr. Bill Li  host the conference. Senior V.P. for Federal Government Relations Edward J. Hill from Bank of America made a speech on US-China Economic Relations: A View from Capitol Hill.

Xing Liang Pan, Director, Division of 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road Coordination, Department of Western Region Development, National Development and Reform Commission,PRC made a speech on Strengthening the cooperation and exchange of legal professional services, promoting the high-quality development of“One Belt & Road”.

Mr.Jiang Pan, Senior Economics Counselor, Embassy of the Peoples Republic of China in the United States made a speech on Bilateral Business and Trade between China and America: Present and the Future.

Mr.John Gizzi, Newsmax, Chief Political Columnist & White House Correspondent made a speech on Special Political Analysis: Mid-term Elections and Implications to 2020 Presidential Race.

Timothy Mills, Executive Chairman, GLA Washington, D.C. AGM Organizing Committee made a speech on US-China Trade Relations and also hold the Panel Discussion about Tariffs and Market Access, Intellectual Property Issues, Financial Services and Capital Controls.The other Panelists are

During lunch, Gilbert Rozman, Editor-in-Chief of The Asian Forum made a speech on Changing Asian Alliances and the Business Impact.

There are many lawyers and friends of business and financial circles from the United States and around the world attending the GLA’s annual conference held in New York who will discuss not only many topics related to cross-border investment in the future but also topics they are interested in. The conference held today will lay a good foundation for future cross-border investment and international cooperation.
